What Monterey Bay Area beach is the best for bonfires?
Think logistics. You want to be close enough to parking that it is not too much of a burden to carry wood, blanket, a picnic basket and possibly chairs down to the beach. Some girls might find it unromantic if you get down there all sweaty from the effort. Of course you do want be far enough away to have a little privacy and an intimate walk. State beaches close at 10PM The Park rangers often drive up to people on the beach with spotlights blazing. You almost could use a friend to carry things down and set up for you. Then leave when you get there.
