What monitoring and laboratory tests are necessary?

BP monitoring should be conducted every 2 to 3 weeks during treatment. Patients who develop hypertension may require BP monitoring at more frequent intervals (even if they have discontinued therapy). Patients should also be monitored for the development or worsening of proteinuria with serial urinalyses. Patients with a 2+ or greater urine dipstick reading should undergo further assessment (eg, 24-hour urine collection) and should be monitored regularly until improvement and/or resolution is observed.
