Several basic types of modems work without any effort above a normal NT installation, as long as you follow some simple guidelines: • External modems are platform and OS-independant — Just change the cables. • Watch out when buying ISA modems as they fall into 3 classes: • Physically open up the box to see if the card has jumpers.
