What models of the Touareg are available?
In various worldwide markets, the Touareg is available in the following configurations: • 2.5-liter I5 TDI with 6-speed manual • 3.2-liter V6 with either 6-speed manual or 6-speed Tiptronic • 4.2-liter V8 with 6-speed Tiptronic • 5.0-liter V-10 TDI with 6-speed Tiptronic In North America, the Touareg is currently available as a 3.2-liter V6, a 4.2-liter V8, or a 5.0-liter V-10 Turbo Diesel, all with 6-speed Tiptronic transmission. Various sources have claimed that Volkswagen has either built or intended to build Touaregs with a W8 gasoline engine. The consensus now seems to indicate that Volkswagen has decided not to pursue continued use of their W8 in any vehicles, including the T ouareg.
