What model does the Ashland school district use?
The Ashland School District uses a talent pool model. The state has said that the school district must identify in five areas;intellectual, academic, creative, leadership and artistic. We identify children using a variety of means. These means include the Naglieri Non-Verbal Ability Test, the Kaufmann Brief Intelligence Test, The Wisconsin Knowledge and Concept Tests given in 3rd,4th and 5th grades,the Torrence Test of Creativity, The Roets Leadership Scale, parent nominations, teacher nominations, peer nominations and self nominations.
