13/08/2007 There are two methods used by this product for SMTP authentication. One method used for authentication is “SMTP-AUTH”. If you select this method then the “Default From” field is not used for authentication. The authentication method requires that only “Login name” and “Password” need to be configured. For SMTP-AUTH the “Default From” field is not normally required however the printer is designed only to send an email if a value is present in the “Default From” field so for this reason it is necessary to specify an address in “Default From” even when SMTP-AUTH is used. The other method that can be used for authentication is “POP before SMTP”. If you select this method then the “Default From” must be specified as well as the login user name and password..
