What methods does Prospera Farm use to grow crops?
The most beneficial part of our farm and it’s operation is the soil. Those 8-10 inches of sandy loam dirt are what keeps us in feast or famine literally! We take special steps to give back to the land as it gives us it’s bounty year after year. To keep the farm and the soil healthy, we amend it as often as possible. Some methods include cover cropping, spreading our livestock’s manure, and rotating the crops. We do not use any synthetic or petroleum based fertilizer, pesticides, or growth hormones. Some ways to describe our growing techniques; organic, natural, bio dynamic, humane, dedicated to a healthy environment.
