What methods are available for users to authenticate to encrypted data?
Users can authenticate in various way, depending upon how the data is protected: • If there is a workgroup key on the GuardianEdge Removable Storage computer—and it matches that of the file—then no user authentication is required. • If the data is protected with a password, then users will authenticate with their password. • When GuardianEdge Advanced Authentication is present, data may also be protected with certificates. If the data is protected with a certificate, then users will authenticate with a token or smart card that has a private key matching a certificate with which the data is protected.
