SEA FREIGHT This is generally the most cost-effective method to destinations beyond the EU and can be combined with inland haulage and/or intermodal rail services. Household goods are export packed and stowed in steel water-resistant containers. Containerisation of cargo is the key to safety. Containers travel secured in an upright position on modern purpose-built vessels and are virtually pilferage-free.
