What Metal drummers do NOT use triggers?
About 80-90% of death metal drummers use them while touring The figure for using triggers while recording is a bit less The first Psycroptic album (Isle Of Disenchantment) was done entirely without triggers, but Dave Haley has used them from the 2nd album onwards. Carcass, Intense Hammer Rage, Bloodduster, Atheist, Cynic, Sadistik Exekution, Behold… The Arctopus, Von, Bestial Warlust, Gospel Of The Horns, Aghora and Alarum don’t use them The Berzerker, The Amenta, Deeds Of Flesh and Decrepit Birth all definately use triggers I don’t think triggers take anything from the drumming, all they are usually used for is removing velocity sensitivity from the kick thus turning a drum roll into 32nd note double kick, you could heavily compress the kick drum and then use expansion / normalisation / hard limiting to achieve a similar result.
