What message do you get from the kargil war fought between india and pakistan in 1999?
Message is clear. War is NOT a solution to any problem. Best solutions are negotiated settlements SPEEDILY across the table for permanent PEACE in all respects & friendliness with all neighbours to progress together without trying to dominate or hegemonise or bullying on anyone. All issues must be permanently resolved SPEEDILY otherwise, there is NO guarantee of similar catastrophe in future. Kashmir issue must be permanently resolved at the earliest. Entire J & K is a DISPUTED TERRITORY, not a part of India & Pakistan(UNSC Plebiscite Resolution dated 5 th Jan., 1949). That war lasted for 77 days ( 11 weeks) resulting loss of 2,70,000 Indian troops, much more than combined loss of all Indo-Pak wars prior to that & that too ended with the intervention of Bill Clinton on behalf of Vajpayee like a beggar, otherwise, Azad Kashmir forces were not ready for retreating.
