What mental illness qualifies for SSI disability?
This gives a full list of accepted mental disorders for SSI disability ratings. These disorders must be diagnosed by a certified Psychologist or Psychiatrist and must be determined to be disabling to a degree that impairs daily functioning and the ability to seek, gain, and maintain employment of ANY kind. This means that if you are at all able to care for yourself or think critically on a regular basis, you will likely be denied the claim. For ratings they don’t care what you currently do for work, only that you could get some type of job if you are not fully and regularly incapacitated to a degree that prevents work.
