Henrico County Social Services (804-501-4001) provides medications for eligible persons with a life-threatening situation. To apply for medication assistance the citizen must provide a physician’s statement that the condition is life threatening. The patient must also have the specified medication in a pharmacy container or have a copy of the prescription. This will allow the agency to make arrangements with a pharmacy if medication assistance is approved. The agency CANNOT pay for any narcotic medications. Eligible citizens may receive medical assistance only once in a twelve-month period.
