What medical lab technician training is required?
You will need to attend the proper type of medical lab technician training in order to get a job as a lab tech. You should be able to attend a medical lab technician program that takes either one or two years to complete. Some people get an associate’s degree, while others get just a basic certificate. Once you complete your education, you will need to become certified. You can take an exam that is offered by the American Society for Clinical Pathology. Another option is to become certified by the American Medical Technologists, or AMT, organization.
