What measures have been taken in the Law Library Computer Labs to protect my diskettes?
• We use McAfee Virus Scan software – with VShield running memory-resident to catch infected diskettes. We update our viral data files every six weeks, and so should you. • The lab computers are not bootable from the a: drive, protecting the hard drive from boot viruses. (Note: boot viruses are NOT spread through networks.) • McAfee Virus Scan scans the local boot sector and executable files every time the computer is turned on. • McAfee Virus Scan is available from the Start menu under Programs.
