The engine uses a closed loop cooling system similar to car engines, using a high quality stainless steel internal heat exchanger to dissipate heat into the surrounding water. Raw water never enters the engine, but is used to cool the heat exchanger, engine air intake intercooler, and exhaust cooling system.
