What measures are included in the Home Energy Improvement program?
A series of measures can be included that improve the home’s envelope. The home energy audit can include the following: install six Compact Fluorescent energy efficient light bulbs, replace existing faucet aerators to 1.5 gal. output on the kitchen sink and bathroom sinks to reduce water consumption, replace maximum of two low-flow shower heads, inspect the HVAC system to see if there are combustion air issues, install one MERV 8 filter in the air handler of the HVAC equipment and leave five filters with the customer, caulk exterior windows (to reduce air infiltration into the home), foam larger holes in the exterior leading into the home to seal off air infiltration with urethane foam spray, weather seal exterior doors (max. of two doors) with Q-Lon weather stripping, install triple seal door sweeps on same two doors, measure attic insulation and add to required level set forth by program, install water pipe insulation up to 6 ft. of length on water heater supply pipes, install refrig
