What measures are in place to ensure a high degree of hunter accountability?
Holders of a Restricted NSW Game Hunting Licence (R-Licence): • Must be a member of a Game Council “Approved Hunting Organisation” (AHO). All AHOs have disciplinary provisions in their Constitution for dealing with members who are found not to be ethical and responsible hunters. • Must have completed adequate training • Must have written permission to hunt on the area of declared land • Must abide by a mandatory Code of Practice including ethical behaviour, safety and animal welfare; • Must abide by the Game and Feral Animal Control Act 2002 and related legislation (Firearms Act 1996, Weapons Prohibition Act 1998, Crimes Act, Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act 1979, Companion Animals Act).
