What measures are being taken to ensure that natural wildlife is not negatively impacted by the development?
Detailed ecological surveys of the site have been undertaken and a number of habitats were identified including fen, marshy grassland, grassland, hedgerows, scrub, a stream/wet ditch and seasonally dry ponds. The scheme seeks to protect and retain as much as possible of the existing habitat within the site, to introduce areas of new wetland habitat, and to enhance green links to adjoining areas. Where possible, natural features will be protected and integrated within the built area and open spaces. In particular, the fen habitat will be protected from damage during construction and in the life of the scheme.
