What MCAT score should a pre-medical student aim toward?
A score of 30 or better is a reasonable goal, preferably with no large differences in scores from one section to another, e.g., 10, 10, 10 is much better than 13, 10, 7. The letter grade is less important. The nationwise average MCAT score for students receiving at least one acceptance into an allopathic medical school in the U.S. is 29.5. Any score above 35 is considered exceptional.
