Patrons may request books and videos that are not available at any OhioLINK libraries. Journal articles that are not available at Wayne College Library may also be requested through this service. All requested items must support research or instructional needs.

We place no restrictions on the types of materials that can be requested. However, many libraries will not lend their non-print items (DVDs, CDs, etc.) or genealogical materials. We will not request items that the library owns or that have been published within the past 6 months.

Books, dissertations and theses, monographs, newspapers, materials reproduced on microfilm, and older volumes of periodicals can usually be borrowed. Photocopies of journal articles or of short sections of books can generally be obtained as well as long as such requests are in accordance with copyright laws. Some libraries have categories of materials that are not available on interlibrary loan. Materials that usually cannot be obtained include current periodicals, reference books, original manuscripts, audiovisual materials, computer software, genealogy books, and maps. Some dissertations and theses are not available through interlibrary loan. In this case, the Gorgas circulation staff will tell you how to purchase dissertations and theses from University Microforms International (UMI).
