What materials are used in the manufacturing of the cutting boards?
WEH utilizes only three materials in the construction of its cutting boards. First, Select quality hardwood lumber. Second, Titebond III glue, which is water proof and FDA approved for food preparation surfaces including cutting boards. Three, the boards have been finished with a coat of food grade mineral oil. Food Grade mineral is perfect for finishing wood products such as butcher blocks, cutting boards, wooden bowls, spoons, etc. Mineral Oil will not go rancid like vegetable oil or olive oil. It’s FDA approved for food applications and has no smell or taste to contaminate food. It is available at your local pharmacy, grocer, or convenience store.
