All recyclable materials are covered under the recycling laws and are not allowed in landfills. All citizens of the state of WI are required to recycle the materials banned from landfills since 1991. These materials include: lead acid batteries, major appliances, waste oil, yard waste, bi-metal containers, cardboard, newspaper, magazines, office paper, steel containers, plastic containers (#1 &#2), glass containers and waste tires.
