What manner of a governor does Anambra State need?
Anambra needs a governor that will not depend on federal allocation to develop the state. These people are telling themselves lies. If not that I see it as madness to leave the position of National Chairman to go and run for governor of a state, I will tell you that I want to be governor of Anambra for only three months. Internally generated revenue from Onitsha and Nnewi, if a governor knows what he’s doing, there is no way he cannot generate N4 billion to N5 billion if the tax is appropriately collected. If we depend on federal allocation of N1 billion to N2 billion, by the time you pay salaries of about N886 million, I’m talking as somebody that knows how much the government spends in a month because for you to be in this business, you must have accurate information. What government of Anambra State pays in a month is N886 million from the federal allocation. So, how much is left for you to run the state?
