What Makes Up a Spear Fishing Wetsuit?
A wetsuit is a very good option for those who are swimming where the water is quite cool. Wetsuits not only help to keep the swimmer warm, but they provide a bit of protection from fish, coral and rocks. A spear fishing wetsuit tends to be thinner than a SCUBA diving wetsuit, as the diver is moving around much more and because of this tends to keep warmer anyway. There are two different types of spear fishing wetsuits, known as closed cell and open cell. This refers to the way the neoprene is made. Open Cell Wetsuits are harder to put on, and need to be done when they are wet. The reason for this is that the neoprene has little open cells; meaning to it is like sliding sandpaper up your legs if the suit isn’t wet.
