UKC agility differs from other styles of agility in that it emphasises accuracy and control over speed. A dog with moderate speed will do well as long as it completes the obstacles correctly. Likewise, handlers of all ages, shapes and sizes will be able to compete successfully with proper training and practice. A pre-run walk-through on lead is allowed for A (novice) divisions. This is very helpful for less experienced dogs/handlers. Simply register your dog with UKC (www.ukcdogs.com) before you compete. Mixed breed dogs and pure bred dogs compete together. I hear UKC has some unusual obstacles:Some UKC obstacles at the higher levels are not found in other organisation.
