What makes the lemon,syrup or pepper combination so special?
The lemon, cayenne pepper and maple syrup all serve different purposes. The cayenne pepper, there’s an element in cayenne pepper, capsaicin, that has been known to slightly raise metabolism a little bit. When we have something that’s very spicy and we sweat, you know, you’re burning some calories doing that. The maple syrup gives you some calories, some glucose, because we need glucose for the brain. The lemon juice makes it palatable.
