What makes the democrats win over the republicans in the recent us polls?
There was a small shift among independent voters in a handful of districts and states, enough to change the majority in Congress, barely. The shift was caused by 1) several recent scandals (sexual and influence peddling) by a small number of Republican office holders (4 I think, out of more than 250 total) where the publicity got worse and heavier close to the election. 2) US casualties in Iraq getting notably worse in October (probably a deliberate strategy of the insurgents) than in previous months, and the media heralding it as a trend, instead of a ploy 3) a second term President’s party usually looses Congressional seats in the mid-term election,…that has been the pattern for more than 100 years. It is not very surprising.
