What makes Swarovski crystals so extraordinary?
Swarovski crystal was created in the mid 1890s when Daniel Swarovski (prononced Swore-Off-Ski) invented the worlds first automatic, hydroelectric glass cutting machine. Within the next few years Swarovski established a crystal cutting fatory in Wattens, Austria and founded the Swarovski company. To this day, the technology that Swarovski invented over a century ago cannot be duplicated. Using precise optical techniques Swarovski was able to manufacture crystal “products of precision.” Two additional key elements that create the intense brilliance are the make up of the crystals: approximately 32% lead and the special metallic chemical coating. These factors allow light to refract creating a rainbow spectrum and exceptional radiance. His attention to detail produced crystal components that are superior in their cut, clarity, and brilliance.
