Sprinting is an anaerobic exercise, like weight training, so there for it works the muscles more intensely. The benefit comes from the intensity of the exercise more than from the form so LD running with sprinters form might not have the benefit you are looking for although aerobic exercise has benefits all its own. Your best bet would be sprint intervals, mixing short sprints with longer segments of jogging or slower running.
