What makes someone intelligent?

Having good general knowledge, and talking about complex topics. Also achieving good grades and working hard, being determined and having aspirations. Often it is a result of conditioning from parents, but some people are intelligent out of a less intelligent family, or are just a bit dumber than everyone else! Generally, help from parents with primary school work helps a child to develop into an intelligent teenager from there.

REAL intelligence is a blend of the following seven abilities: Athletic Musical Verbal Communication Empathic (knowledge of people) Empathic (communication with people) Good Directional Skills Mathmatical Good with Nature (green thumb/farmer) This is a well rounded intelligence, BUT, I think people in general think you are intelligent if you are in a high powered job or talk alot. This is a mislead. Intelligence is about a well rounded mind. But everyone measures it diffrently. Also, if you don’t have much confidence and don’t believe yourself intelligent, you will think other people who THINK they know more, to be more intelligent than you… when YOU could be the one who is the smart one! Of the seven I have 4 1/5! 🙂 But I have a whole life time to work on the rest!

I think some of it is genetic. Then I think that the expectations of you regarding education while growing up could make a difference, also the encouraging or reading and asking questions. In addition, if you go on to higher education, you can gain more knowledge. I don’t think this all necessarily makes people intelligent, but it opens the door. I have met older people who only had like a second grade education. However, in talking with them, it was so obvious how intelligent they were. So, don’t get snobby, thinking schooling is the only direction, but it helps a whole lot.
