What makes someone intelligent?
Intelligence is the ability to learn. Ignorance is the lack of knowledge in a given subject. So in theory an ignorant person may be intelligent. I think everyone possess a certain level of intelligence. I feel certain things will help people such as good family genes or having a social-economic background where education is expected and given. However someone poor without education may be intelligent. I think smartness is about the education already learned. This can be improved with hard work and studying. But the ability is pre-set in each of us. That is why it is sad to see so many young people drop out of school when they could do better if given more opportunities or if they were more motivated.
Intelligence is the perception of that which is true, it puts totally aside that which is false, it sees the truth in the false and realises that none of the activities of thought is intelligence. The moment you come to a conclusion as to what intelligence is, you cease to be intelligent. An intelligent mind is one which is constantly learning, never concluding. An intelligent mind is a mind which is not satisfied with explanations, with conclusions, nor is a mind that believes, because belief is again another form of conclusion. Intelligence has no evolution. Intelligence is not the product of time. Intelligence is the quality of sensitive awareness of what is. To end sorrow we must have a very clear, very simple mind. Simplicity is not a mere idea. To be simple demands a great deal of intelligence and sensitivity. An intelligent mind must exercise doubt, and scepticism. If you follow another, intelligence is denied. The following of another, however noble, denies your own perception,
