What makes Sociology at Ryerson different from Sociology programs at other universities?
There are currently forty-seven university programs offering recognized Sociology degrees in Canada , nineteen within Ontario. These programs tend to be general in focus, with students taking courses from a wide variety of Sociology courses from different fields, such as media, family, crime and deviance, gender, multiculturalism, and social theory. Sociology students do not traditionally take research and methods courses unless they are interested in graduate school and have been accepted in an Honors Sociology program.
