What Makes Shoei Helmets Unique?
The Joint stock Japanese Company Shoei has been manufacturing helmets since 1954. They used to produce Polyester helmets for the construction industry. But from 1958 the founder of Shoei, Eitaro Kamata started manufacturing helmets for the motorcycle racing sector. The company has its headquarters in Taito, Tokyo, Japan. The company manufactures every Shoei helmet meeting the industry standards of Japan, it also comprises of regulations of classifying and numbering. The motor company Honda accepted the Shoei Helmet as their authentic helmet in 1965. Another factory was constructed in Iwate in 1989. All the helmets are designed and produced in Japan, even though they are sold and circulated worldwide. In spite of the big success, there are only 500 people employed by them worldwide and this is why it still is a small company.
