What makes Shakespeare appealing as an actor?
I would say the wording. The way that he uses language is absolutely stunning. I realize it’s a very cliched answer. But it is lyrical but yet, at the same time, they’re still reflecting real emotions and there’s depth even though it’s hey, this rhymes. It’s still very deep and it’s still very relatable. What’s your favorite line Juliet says? It’s part of the balcony scene. I’ve always loved this line. I grew up watching “William Shakespeare’s Romeo + Juliet,” the Baz Luhrmann version. I was obsessed with that movie when I was younger. I feel like it was the “Romeo and Juliet” of our generation. It’s what we grew up watching. But the line where she says, “If thou wilt swear by thy gracious self, which is the God of my idolatry and I’ll believe thee.” And “the God of my idolatry”—there’s just something about that line that’s just so powerful and beautiful.
