Princeton Review is good for people who have trouble learning from books and are more kinesthetic or auditory learners. I find that most of the students who have difficulty with the verbal portion of the test benefit from an interactive classroom environment, especially the way that TPR approaches the topics. You get tons of anecdotal mnemonic devices and plenty of practice problems designed to teach techniques. The philosophy is that most kids who need help, hate school, so why not try to make it fun. You get to play games and interact with your peers and you get to call your teachers by their first names. The classroom environment is more like a performance than a lecture. So what you are paying for is not only the strategies and the practice, but the entertainment and the nonconventional teaching style. Some people find this hard to adjust to.
