What Makes Prayer Work?
There are three basic areas that allow prayer to work. These are legal and structural aspects, all of which have been provided for by God. There is nothing else to be done in these areas to make prayer a working tool. It is a complete working system established by God Himself for the benefit of man. • Authority of prayer. The authority of prayer is established by Covenant with God. In the Old Testament it was the Law of Moses. In the New Testament, and for the rest of human history, it is the Covenant of Spirit implemented in the Person of Jesus Christ. This Covenant in Christ reconciles you to God (2 Corinthians 5:18-19), which removes any grievances that keep a person from having prayers answered. As well, Jesus is the Mediator (Hebrews 9:15) and High Priest (Hebrews 3:1) of this Covenant. As such, He has given us the use of His Name (John 14:13-14) when praying to the Heavenly Father. The using of the Name of Christ is our authority in prayer. It should not be taken, as some legalis
