What makes POWER-GATE isolators different than traditional silicon and Schottky packages often found on boats and RVs?

Commonly know as “diode isolators,” traditional methods of isolating current have been superceded by the use of electronics know as MOSFET’s. These devices have numerous qualities which make them vastly superior than traditional silicon and Schottky diodes. MOSFET’s are now widely used in low power applications while POWER-GATE uses a newly patented manufacturing process which allows MOSFET’s to be deployed in high-current applications. The inherent nature of MOSFET’s makes them dramatically more efficient than predecessor solid state methods of isolating power.
