What makes new mexico sunsets so pretty?
I believe that it is a combination of factors: High elevation, a far westward horizon, water vapor, and dust. These allow for the sunrays to pass through more atmosphere as the New Mexico revolves away from the sun. This allows the sunlight to encounter more water vapor and be dispersed into more colors. Also, the longer path taken by the sun’s rays allow more of blue light to be absorbed by the atmosphere. This permits a disproportionate amount of red light to pass, give the spectacular, beautiful sunsets.
