What makes Melrose Glucosamine different?
Until Melrose Plant Sourced Glucosamine became available all glucosamines were sourced from Chitin, a major component of shellfish. This posed an allergy risk to many consumers. Melrose Plant Sourced Glucosamine is a unique new form of Glucosamine hydrochloride. Sourced from fermented corn it is 100% free from shellfish or animal ingredients. Melrose Plant Sourced Glucosamine is also Gluten Free, Halal and Kosher. There are two major forms of Glucosamine, the hydrochloride form and the sulphate form. There is a discussion over which of the two glucosamine salts, hydrochloride or sulphate, is preferred for the treatment of osteoarthritis. Glucosamine sulphate is the form used in much of the clinical trials conducted. It is important to understand that both salts, in the pure form, deliver equally effective amounts of glucosamine to joint cartilage.
