Deck Lok is 100% Virgin Vinyl. It contains no recycled material as do a lot of composite decking material on the market today. Composites contain a variety of recycled material, such as wood chips & recycled plastic, that are pressed together. Since wood is a conductor of heat, composites get hot when they are in the sun. Plastic is not a conductor of heat, so Deck Lok stays cool enough to walk on.
