What makes clothes shrink more: washing in hot water or drying at high heat?

0

Washing certain fabrics in hot water will shrink them, and drying them at high heat does the same. It has been my experience that drying at high heat will do more damage as far as shrinkage is concerned. It is the heat that makes things shrink. A dryer on high is hotter than a washer set on hot. This of course all depends on what the individual has their hot water tank temperature set at.
