What makes BitCandy different than Pandora or Last.FM?
The key point here is that BitCandy is a hand picked, human, filtered song experience with a curated expertise in alternative, modern, electronic and indie music. The issue (in our opinion) with Pandora or Last.FM (while we think is great for some people and users) is that if you create a radio station based on say inputting Santogold, MGMT, and Electrocute, the result might, from a computer algorithm, next serve you a Ting Ting’s song…BUT this song might not be the BEST Ting Tings song… nonetheless the coding and algorithm has done it’s job and matched the request and built a playlist built on what you’ve inputted and how you rate (yes/no) other songs…so in a way, it’s a successful ‘playlist by computer.’ This can work for some casual listeners…but we think that nothing will replace the human experience of what touches and moves the heart and soul other than a hand picked and curated music experience.
