What makes an online portfolio impressive? What should writers avoid doing?
I opened this question because I was interested to see what answers might come up. I write freelance how-to articles for national woodworking magazines, providing both print and online content. I have also begun a series of “skill building” videos (60-90 seconds) that are free on my website. As a result of this, I don’t have a “portfolio” as such. Those interested in my work can download PDFs of articles that I have had published, the website has links to my online work, and the videos are all there too. Maybe I am doing it wrong, but so far it seems to be working alright for me.
