What makes a suitable home for a border collie?
A. Working border collie’s can be equally happy at work on a farm or as active pets . . . FACT. We love our dogs to become sheepdogs (as long as they are treated correctly) but we’re also very happy to see them go to live as pets as long as a few simple criteria are met. Working Border Collies are highly intelligent dogs. That means they can learn very quickly but of course, they don’t always learn good things. Border collies can quickly develop bad habits. They can also be very strong-willed, so they need a great deal of supervision, especially when they are young. If we know the dog will have its mind and body kept active and have lots of firm but fair guidance, we’re very happy to see them go as pets, but please forgive us if we ask you difficult questions before we allow you to buy one.
