A “baby sling” is a piece of cloth that supports an infant or other small child from a carrier’s body. Slings typically fall into several types: (1) ring (2) tie (3) pouch or (4) wrap A soft structured baby carrier evenly distributes the baby’s weight on the parent’s body and carriers are subject to safety standards, third party testing and safety certification. Slings are not currently subject to safety standards or third party testing and therefore cannot be safety certified. Please see the CPSC’s warning about using certain types of sling carriers for babies: CPSC’s.
