What makes a republican form of government different from monarchy or dictatorship?
A dictatorship is controlled, like a monarchy, by one person who has all of the power. While a monarchy is ruled over by a king or queen, who inherit the title, a dictatorship is ruled by a dictator. A republican form of government has three branches, the members of which are elected by the people.
