What makes a person a good fit for the BioMed profession?
A good match for the BioMed profession would be a caring person who is interested in helping people and keeping them safe. A good portion of a BioMed Technicians job is to assist clinicians in the proper operation of technical medical equipment and to provide training in a diplomatic and courteous manner. A BioMed Technician is also responsible for testing medical equipment to make sure that is functioning properly and in a safe manner to avoid patient and staff injury. A BioMed professional is also a person who likes to investigate interesting technical problems and use their hands, common hand tools, and test equipment to repair or maintain medical equipment. Mechanical and or computer aptitude and interest are a good match. Most BioMed technicians encounter a wide variety of situations on a daily basis and enjoy doing new things regularly. They also enjoy continually learning new pieces of equipment and techniques, as the equipment changes rapidly.
