What makes a good swimmer?
A good swimmer must first of all be a leader to his/her peers. Without leadership there is no such thing as greatness. The next thing that a good swimmer needs is good times. Without good times there’s no good swimmer or even in some cases no swimmer at all. Without times there is no competitive swimmer so the ability to post good times is crucial. Speaking of good times, a good swimmer needs to come through in clutch situations. This shows the will to win and the will to lead the team and inspire them to do the same. Coming through in situations like this can also determine the score of a meet and could be a win or loss for the team as a whole. A good swimmer therefore also contributes to the team. How they do this is up to them. Lastly, a good swimmer raises the spirits of the team. Without psychological preparation a team is doomed from the first announcement of “backstrokers in the water”. Without the will to win there can be no victory.
