What makes a cat converter and muffler go bad?????

0

Muffler exhaust systems go back from starting our vehicle and not driving far enough to burn out the condensation that built up inside the night before. For example we have owned 5 Toyotas from brand new: one Toyota Corolla LE sedan was my wife’s 1st car before we got married and the distance from her home to work was like 5 miles one-way that the original muffler only lasted like 18 months. Later our oldest son took it to college and he went through several mufflers in 4 years. We also had a 1993 Toyota Camry LE Sedan that when we gave it away with 211,000 miles after 12 years, it still had the original muffler and the same is true for our 1998 Toyota Sienna XLE minivan with 99,700 miles, it too has the original muffler. Hope the Above Info Helps!
